Poodle Agility
All three varieties of Poodle excel in the sport of agility. Agility is a timed event in which the dog and handler strive to meet a standard for speed and accuracy while racing through a series of obstacles and jumps predetermined by the judge. There are several levels of agility, at least 4 different venues, and many many titles available for the team to achieve. There are local, regional, national and world competitions.
The sport has magazine periodical publications, multiple websites and e-mail lists devoted to the sport, and seminars are given across the globe for those wishing to learn more and improve performance. Poodles, particularly the smaller varieties, regularly compete at the highest levels.
Agility is one of the several areas from which points can be accumulated in achieving the VIP Versatility Certificate or Versatility Certificate Excellent award. (see VC/X link)
