A list of some of the equipment that we have found to be useful for field training:
- patience and a dog which loves game birds and swimming!
- bumpers:white, black, orange, black and white, sizes some of both small and large
- 40 foot floating long line
- pistol: to shoot with 22 blanks or shotgun primers
- electronic collar
- bird/bumper launcher with remote electronics
- orange surveyer's marking tape
- black jacket, white jacket, camo jacket, black gloves, white gloves, black cap and white cap, rain clothes, rain boots (muck boots work well),
- heeling stick
- rubber mat about 3 x 3 feet size, dri-deck works well too
- a source for gamebirds (ducks, pheasants, pigeons, chukkers) and a freezer to keep them for use after they have been "dispatched" for repeated use
- holding blind
- mosquitoe, flea and tick repellants for you and your dog
- sunscreen and a hat
- a folding portable chair
- land and water for training
- a group of like-minded people to share the fun of field training, throw birds for you and cheer you on as you do the same for them!

- Great remote bird and/or bumper launcher is the WingerZinger. It is lightweight, easy to transport, requires no stakes. (we highly recommmend this item if you train alone)
