Tri-Tronics Hold and Fetch. These two tapes are an excellent step-by-step method of humanely teaching your dog to first HOLD a bird without mouthing or chewing it, and then to fetch a bird under any and all conditions. Jim and Phyllis Dobbs have done a great job with these tapes and they should be in every trainer's library and referred to prior to teaching fetch to EVERY Poodle. These can be obtained from ma ny sources including Dobbs Training.

Jackie Mertens has a wonderful puppy training video entitled Sound Beginnings Retriever Training. This is an overview of a progressive program to start your puppy at 7 weeks of age, develop a positive attitude and prepare your puppy for advanced training. It is available for $39.95 from Younglove Broadcast Services

Total Retriever Training by Mike Lardy. This Set of 3 tapes with a workbook can be obtained from: Younglove Broadcast Services, P.O. Box 79, Metamora, MI 48466, 810-678-2313 or 800-848-5963.. This is a set of tapes recorded at a training seminar. It sets out a WINNING program for retriever training by one of the most respected and successful Field Trial Trainers in North America. These tapes need to be reviewed 20 or 30 times to "get" all the information contained therein.

Total Retriever Marking by Mike Lardy. This set of 3 tapes fills in some of the missing information in the first set of tapes. These can also be obtained from Whistle Lake Productions as noted above. You would do well to review these tapes repeatedly also. Many trainers find it very helpful to view the tapes in both sets "side-by-side".
